Cadette Troop #10476 wins "Greenest"

Cadette Troop #10476 won "Greenest" at the 2011 Lichterman Nature Center Scarecrow Contest with their entry "Girl Scouts Can". The Troop designed their scarecrow using mainly soda cans and strung can tabs. She wears a "sash" and a sign saying she will be recycled! All the scarecrows remain on display at Lichterman Nature Center through September for the public to vote on most popular. Read More

Girl Scouts of the USA Convene African American and Hispanic Leaders in Washington D.C.

Last week, Girl Scouts of the USA led two major events in Washington, D.C. to help connect with African American and Hispanic leaders from across the country. "Original" Girl Scout Cookie Recipe

This recipe is from the cookbook, "Pocket Stew" published by the South Louisiana Girl Scout Council. Kathy Clark found this recipe billed as the "original" Girl Scout cookie recipe used in the 1930's. Today, Girl Scouts of the USA CEO Designate, Anna Maria Chavez, addressed the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute and released key findings about Hispanic girls by the Girl Scout Research Institute (GSRI). Teddy Bear Drive to benefit the Memphis Child Advocacy Center

The motto of the Memphis Child Advocacy Center is "helping victims become children again." The Center's mission is to help children who are victims of sexual abuse.
