As part of the board adopted Girl Scouts Heart of the South Long Range Property Plan, the committee completed extensive analysis of both our camp and administrative office properties. The goals of this plan are to:
- To develop a property vision that promotes the mission of the organization by including membership and staff.
- To research and develop strategies and recommendations for presentation to the Board that may involve property acquisition, development, or sale in order to meet the needs and interests of existing and future girls.
After careful consideration, the Columbus location has been closed. This is based on months of study on office traffic and volunteer needs and services. GSHS is dedicated to serving all of our members in the most effective and fiscally responsible way possible.
Membership Manager, Nikoya Gillespie, will continue to serve the counties in northeast Mississippi in an out-based capacity. This will enable her to deliver programs and services directly to the hometowns of volunteers and girls. She will work diligently to ensure services for members continue to be provided in a timely and seamless manner.
We are thankful to the Northeast Mississippi Community Advisory Board members and local supporters who sought and recommended alternate space.
