Girl Scouts Heart of the South would like to welcome Kimberly Crafton as the new Director of
Fund Development and Charity Cornett, Membership Manager in the Jackson region.
Kimberly Crafton is a lifetime Girl Scout member and has spent over 10 years in
development, marketing and public relations. She has worked to produce funding
for Memphis Goodwill as the Director of Marketing , Development and Public
Relations. Kimberly spent time developing community partnerships at
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis as the Director of Community Relations.
Originally from Birmingham, AL , and a graduate of the University
of Alabama, Kimberly spent many years being active with the Cahaba Girl Scout
Council. She said “Being a Girl Scout provided me with the opportunities
to learn skills and a work ethic that still impact my life to this day”.
Charity Cornett has a strong background in scouting, education and child
counseling and has experience working with parents, youth and volunteers.
She was a Child Guidance Specialist at Glendover Elementary in Lexington, KY
where she provided group counseling, peer mediation and staff support. While
there, she also facilitated a discipline program and bully prevention
curriculum called The Eagles Task Force. As a Guidance Counselor at
Indian Lake Schools in Lewiston, OH, Charity formed partnerships with local
education institutions and businesses to promote scholarship opportunities. She
has also increased student enrollment as an Instructor, increased income as a
Yearbook Advisor and increased membership in her current troop as a Troop
Leader by 75%.
Charity has a Master of Science in School Counseling
from the University of Dayton and Bachelor of Science from Wright State
